Why this site exists

Most booking sites put a tick next to 'sauna'. We ask the questions sauna people actually ask. Is it wood-fired or a lukewarm cabin? Is it yours alone or shared with the gym crowd? Can you throw water on the stones? Is there a sea, a lake or at least a cold plunge afterwards, and can you actually use it after dinner?

We have mapped more than 1,350 places to stay with a sauna across the UK: hotels, cottages, lodges, cabins and apartments. We check them one by one, so you can stay for the sauna, not despite it.

What is verified, and what is not yet

Every stay on the site has a sauna confirmed in our booking partners' data or named by the owner. The details that matter, such as the sauna type, whether it is private, opening times, fees, swimwear rules and cold water nearby, are checked stay by stay. Each stay shows one of three states:

• Verified Sep 2026 We checked the sauna details, and show the month.
• Provisional Some details come from the listing itself, such as 'private sauna' in the name, but we have not checked them.
• Data only, not yet verified The sauna is listed, but its details are not checked yet. We show only what we know.

How we are funded

When you book through some of our links we may earn a commission from the booking partner. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes how we describe or score a sauna. Read the affiliate disclosure.
